Ultrasound Pics

Ever since my first ultrasound I have been wanting a way to display the pictures in her nursery. I saw the ultrasound frames that say "I loved you before I met you" and I never really loved them, so I came up with my own idea and searched for a saying to put next to it! The project turned out much better than I was expecting!! The ultrasounds are from 7 weeks, 18 weeks, and 27 weeks. I can't wait to have this hanging in her nursery!!
I love the cricut machine!! I used it to cut all of the vinyl lettering that is on the canvas. It was a lot of work, but it is well worth all of the time.
Here's the poem up close!! I just love this... I hope you all like it too!

Flowers & Bows

These are the bows and flowers that I have made for Siena so far, I love them, and have plans for many many more. These are SOO addicting, and I can't wait to see my little one with a black headband and the huge pink flower in her hair!! Thanks Melanie for all of the help!! I love them!

Hair Bows

Thanks to Melanie, and her tutorials, I made my friend Natalie's new baby Hallie (born 03-06-09) some adorable headbands.
I wasn't sure if I was going to love the ribbon bows, but I love the look of them, and I can imagine them being adorable on a baby!
And, these flower clips to go on the headbands also!! I love them! I made Siena all of the same ones! The headband on the far left is black, but it doesn't show up very well on my camera.

Unorganized Chaos

I had been told that keeping things clean once you had a baby was very difficult, but I had no idea that it started before the baby even came!!!
This was Siena's changing table with all of her clothes (minus a big tote full). I am fully aware of the fact that my daughter has a LARGE wardrobe for an unborn child, but that's what happens when you have older sisters who are done having children. The mess was driving me crazy, and I was convinced that there was NO way that we could actually use this once she came, so I decided to do some organizing.
First I made all of these storage cubes! Melanie posted this tutorial on her craft blog, and I just had to try it! I was thinking that I would make one or two, but instead I made 10. The tutorial is to make 6" cubes that are perfect for holding small things, but since Siena doesn't have a dresser or a closet (and won't until after we move) I needed really big ones to hold all of her clothes. I made some 12", some 9", and some 6". The other thing that I did different was rather than putting cereal box cardboard inside to keep them sturdy, I used foam board so that they would be a little stronger. And, I hand sewed all of the corners down! They turned out great, and I am so excited with the finished product!
But, after all of the organization, I still felt like something was missing, so I made this name garland (out of the same book that my mom bought me). It turned out so cute. Please don't maximize these pictures, I tried to quilt around the letters on my machine, and they do not look that great! Here's an example of what each of them looks like up close. This was super easy to make, and didn't take very much time at all. I had never done any type of applique, so that took me a minute to figure out, but I love it!!
And here is the finished product! I am now officially ready to change her little bum on the top of her changing table (don't worry, we are going to get a changing pad!!). Oh, I can't WAIT for her to get here!!!

Diaper Bag

I spent weeks attempting to sew this diaper bag (from a book my mom bought me) and I was proud of myself, but didn't love the finished product. It has pockets on the inside, and I think that it is a great size, but I wasn't completely happy! When my mom came she recommended that I add some large ric rac or that I sew a bow on to the front. I looked for large ric rac but couldn't find it big enough so I attempted the bow and...
I love the finished product! I think it added so much, and now I feel like it is girly enough for me to use!! I can't wait to fill it with all of the baby stuff and carry it around!!

Blankets

While my mom was here she showed me a really easy way to make some receiving blankets, so we went crazy and made a few. The one in the back, we actually added some batting and machine quilted a little, but these are way easy, and really cute when they are done!! I can't wait to wrap my little girl up in one of these :)
